A large flock of snow geese take flight off the waters of the marsh of Loess Bluff National Wildlife Refuge in Western Missouri.  Snow geese flock to the refuge each year during the winter and spring months when the bird migration in North America happens.  These birds fill the air and block out the sky when they take flight to feed on the surrounding fields or avoid the birds of prey.  Hundreds of thousands of these birds move through the area near the border of Missouri and Nebraska.

Two Dolphin Gulls, Leucophaeus scoresbii, fka Larus scoresbii, flying above a colony of King Cormorants, Leucocarbo (atriceps) albiventeron, on Bleaker Island, Falklands. These Cormorants are part of the Blue-Eyed Shag group of species which is currently under taxonomic review. There is also a Falklands (Brown) Skua in flight, with a number of King Cormorants which are coming and going from fishing trips.
