Paramaribo, Suriname: Fort Zeelandia - built in the early 17th century, when Dutch settlers founded a trading settlement near the indigenous village of Parmurbo, later Paramaribo. The Monnikendam is a preserved water gate in the Dutch city of Amersfoort. Under this gate, the water from the Heiligenbergerbeek flows into the city center. The gate consists of two towers connected by an archway and is located on the eastern side of the city center.
