Damaged building and road in Peshmal town, Swat Valley, Pakistan on 26 October 2022, a few months after the country’s worst flooding in a decade caused by climate change. Swat is the country’s most popular tourist destination and is often called the Switzerland of Asia. There is a ski resort, and a beautiful valley with Karakoram mountain range in sight. There are ruins of an ancient civilization of Ghandara Kingdom and numerous Buddhist sites that make Swat one of the most important destinations for Buddhist pilgrimage. \n\nThe valley is full small shops, hotels and restaurant, is now like a war zone, with building skeletons, road covered with leftover flood water, boulders and stones brought by the torrential monsoon rain mixed with melted glacier. The photo shows damaged buildings, a truck, a car and their reflection in the water, a mountain with fall colored trees, blue sky. The road is still under construction till today.
