It played a vital role in numerous campaigns, including the D-Day invasion of Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Pacific island-hopping campaign.

The flagpole has a total area of more than 16,000 m2 and a height of 45m, allowing visitors to climb to the upper floors to see the panoramic view of the Ca Mau mangrove forest, the vast East Sea, and the cluster of poetically beautiful islands between the East and West Seas.
