William Emerson, father of minister William Emerson and grandfather of transcendentalist writer and lecturer Ralph Waldo Emerson. n 1842, the American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne rented the Old Manse for $100 a year. The Old Manse The house is located on Monument Street, with the Concord River just behind it. The property neighbors the North Bridge, a part of Minute Man National Historical Park. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966 and is open to the public as a nonprofit museum.

Luanda, Angola: The Iron Palace, or Palácio de Ferro, is a striking historical building in Luanda, Angola, renowned for its intricate ironwork and unique architectural style. Thought to have been designed by the famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel, it was constructed in the 19th century, possibly as a pre-fabricated structure intended for another location before being shipped to Luanda.
