Quebec, QC - January 13, 2024: The VIA Rail Canada Siemens train sets reportedly performed well in winter conditions and brought a new uniformity look to Corridor Passenger Services. Powered by Siemens Charger locomotives, which are equipped with a fuel-efficient Cummins QSK95, 16-cylinder diesel engine providing 4200 hp, the four-car train set is book-ended by a cab car of similar design to the Charger and allows for bi-directional operations without having to turn train sets. Since winter is the toughest time for railroading at baseline, it was good to see these train sets performing well and at speed.

Wooden grain elevators were also a key part of farming and agriculture in the early days. The wooden grain elevators have now been replaced by concrete structures.
