Fort Story, Virginia, USA - April 13, 2024: The “new” Cape Henry Lighthouse, built in 1881, stands out among other historic buildings and a harbor control tower on a sunny day.
Bodie Island lighthouse stands 156 feet tall on the outer banks of North Carolina in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The last of 3 lighthouses in the area was built in 1871 and guides mariners through the treacherous waters off the outer banks as well as Roanoke Sound in the intracoastal waters.
