The historic fort of Derawar, is a large square fortress in the desert of Cholistan. Ahmadpur East Tehsil, Punjab, Pakistan. 130 kilo meters south of the city of Bahawalpur, the forty bastions of Derawar are visible for many miles in the Cholistan Desert. The walls have a perimeter of 1500 metres and stand up to thirty meters high. It holds a valuable significance in the Muslim world. It was used by Sadiq Ali Khan and his guests as a winter holiday residence.
