This was the first earthquake to strike directly under an urban area of the United States since the 1933 Long Beach earthquake.
As a memory of Second World War stands these bunkers, once a part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall. They are still there, even if some have been moved around by floods. They no longer serve any use. This one was a personell facility.
