Traditional woodcarving of the Asmat people, of the Asmat people, West Papua, Newguinea, Indonesia. The Asmat people inhabit a region on the southwestern coast of Newguinea bordering the Arafura Sea. The Asmat have one of the most well-known woodcarving traditions in the Pacific, and their art is sought by collectors worldwide. The Asmat were documented headhunters and cannibals, and as a consequence were left largely undisturbed until the mid-20th century.

Black and white photograph depicting architectural detail of the roof of Fantoft medieval wooden tarred stave church in the City of Bergen on the west cost of Norway on a sunny day in spring. The image shows details of the roof. The church was originally built around the year 1150 at Fortun in Sogn (in the Sognefjord). Threatened with demolition as a new church had been built to replace the old, the stave church was bought by consul Fredrik Georg Gade and saved by moving it in pieces to Fantoft in 1883. On 6 June 1992, the church was destroyed by arson. Reconstruction of the church began soon after the fire and was completed in 1997.

Old bas relief at the Mukden Palace, or Shenyang Imperial Palace, the former palace of the Later Jin dynasty and the early Qing dynasty. It was built in 1625, and the first three Qing emperors lived there from 1625 to 1644. It lies in the center of Shenyang, Liaoning.
