Knightia alta is an extinct genus of fish well-known from abundant fossils found in the Green River Formation of Wyoming, United States. They rarely exceeded 10 cm in length and are found throughout the formation. Knightia alta, Eocene Epoch, Green River Shale. Fossil.
Devonian fossils in limestone matrix include bryozoa, crinoid, and brachiopod fossils. Largest pieces are about 1/2 inch (10 mm). Fossil and Prairie Park Preserve, Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area, Rockford, Iowa, USA.
Keichousaurus hui sauropterygian fossil from China
Fossilized skeleton of Paroodectes feisti, a miacid animal that lived during the early Eocene (ca. 50 million years ago) in the rain forests and swamps of the present-day Germany. It was a prehistoric predator that had the size and the appearance of a cat and was well adapted to climbing, as is apparent from its limbs, joints and shoulder bones. Its long tail gave balance for tree climbing and jumping from branch to branch.
