15th March, Varanasi, India. Bhasma Holi 2022 In Varanasi: In India, the tradition of Holi in Kashi, which is known as the city of Lord Shiva, is not only considered centuries old but also unique. In Kashi Vishwanath, apart from the Holi colors, there is also a Holi which is celebrated with the ashes of pyres. It is believed that Lord Vishwanath (Lord Shiva) keeps ghosts, demons, vampires, visible, invisible, powers which Baba keeps from going among human beings. Lord Shiva comes to Ganga ghat to play Holi with supernatural beings and his followers. They then smeared colors and ash on each other while dancing to the tunes of folk songs. Devotees makeup themselves as different avatars of God, Goddess, and other super powers.
