Paris, France -- September 18, 2022: Canal Saint-Martin, weaves its way through the heart of the Paris. Stretching an impressive 4.6 kilometers (2.86 miles), this picturesque waterway serves as a vital connection between the Canal de l'Ourcq and the majestic river Seine. Along its course there are 9 locks, one of which is pictured here. A significant portion, approximately 2,069 meters (2,263 yards) long, had been concealed beneath the surface during the mid-19th century. The aim was to create expansive boulevards and inviting public spaces above, leaving only traces of the covered canal visible.
