The plant was previously nammed Hieracium pilosella. The leaves are covered with hairs, like a mouse's ears wich inspired its common name. It spreads widely with its stolons (ground runners) and it is considered an invasive species in parts of the United States. The flower - which we do not see in December - looks a bit like that of the dandelion.
