In 1866-67, 19 year old Thomas Edison lived in the left side of this shotgun duplex on E. Washington St in Louisville. Each day, he walked to his job at a Western Union telegraph operator at 1st & Main St.\nOn his lunch breaks, he liked to experiment on new inventions. In 1867, he was fired from Western Union after he spilled some sulfuric acid, which dripped through the floor and onto his boss's desk. He never returned to Louisville.\n\nThe house is now a museum housing several examples of Edison’s inventions as well as common household items from the period.

Paramaribo, Suriname: the Catholic Bishop's residence (Bisschopshuis) - an early eighteenth-century building, among the oldest in Paramaribo, probably built in 1730 by plantation owner Sara Lemmers - Henck Arronstraat (former Gravenstraat) - The episcopal building has two floors. The central double door has a skylight above which is a wooden balcony mounted on wrought iron consoles. There is a mansard roof both in the front and the rear. At the rear, the floor has a wooden extension with an internal gallery with arches underneath. On the first floor there is a neo-Gothic chapel from 1929 - Historic Inner City of Paramaribo, Unesco world heritage site.
