A romantic sky at sunset behind a Bernini Angel along Ponte Sant'Angelo, in the historic and Baroque heart of Rome. This bridge was built over the River Tiber at the behest of the emperor Hadrian in 134 AD to connect the heart of the Ancient Rome with his mausoleum, currently Castel Sant'Angelo. A few centuries later, under the pontificate of Pope Clement IX, the architect and sculptor Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini was commissioned to create the current balustrade decorated with ten statues of the Angels of the Passion of Christ. According to the Christian tradition, each Angel holds one of the relics of the Passion of Christ, such as the cross, the veil of Veronica, the nails, the spear, the pillar of the scourging, etc. Designed by Bernini, the statues were made under his direction in 1669 by the pupils present in his school of sculpture. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Super wide angle image in high definition format.

Rome, Italy: Oratorio dei Filippini (Oratory of St Philip Neri) - religious building built by Francesco Borromini between 1637 and 1667 for the Congregation of San Filippo Neri - The facade summarizes the innovations of Borromini's austere and technically rigorous style. The main body is divided into five sectors by pilasters (pilasters) arranged on a concave plan; the dialectical play between the central part of the first order, curved outwards, and the depth of the niche with basin with false drawers of the upper order is lively. The shape of the tympanum, created for the first time with a mixtilinear shape, generates a curvilinear and angular movement - Piazza della Chiesa Nuova.
