The Church of St. Nicolai is the youngest and smallest of the three main churches in the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg. The church dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra is a three-aisled basilica. It was built from 1407 to 1440 in the brick Gothic style like other churches in Hanseatic cities in the Baltic Sea region. Since the introduction of the Reformation in Lüneburg in 1530, Protestant services have been held in the church.
