Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany: the engines on a Boeing 737 have a unique shape due to the aircraft’s low ground clearance and the need for larger, fuel-efficient high-bypass turbofan engines. To fit these larger engines, the nacelles have a flattened bottom, giving them an oval or squashed appearance. This design ensures adequate clearance from the ground while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency.
