Low to short hairy perennial without runners; stems hairy all round. \\Leaves oval, toothed or untoothed, the base stalked and present at flowering time. Bracts all longer than the flowers, oval to rounded, occasional lobed, tinged with blue or violet. Flowers pale violet-blue, rarely pink or white, 10-18mm long, in a dense leafy spike. Stamen stalks hairless.\nHabitat: Grassy and rocky places, generally on calcareous soils, to 2800m.\nFlowering Season: April-August.\nDistribution: Eifel, Alps and N. Europe. \n\nThis Picture is made during a long weekend in the Eifel (Germany) in June 2019.
