Istanbul, Turkey - June 23, 2024:General view from Haydarpasa Station. Haydarpaşa Station is the main train station of TCDD located in Kadıköy district on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The first building of the station, which is now located at the starting point of the Istanbul-Haydarpaşa - Ankara railway, was built by the Nâfia Nezâreti of the Ottoman Empire and put into service on September 22, 1872. The current station building, designed in neoclassical German style by German architects Otto von Kühlmann and Hellmuth Cuno and built by the Chemins de Fer Ottomans d'Anatolie / Ottoman Anatolian Railways (CFOA) Company, was commissioned on August 19, 1908. Haydarpaşa Station is outside the usual Ottoman architecture. Built by two German architects, Haydarpaşa is called a neo-classical building. Spread over a total area of 3 thousand 836 square meters, Haydarpaşa Station has 5 floors.
