$Lake of Zurich can be used to describe the lake as a whole, or just that part of the lake downstream of the Seedamm at Rapperswil, whilst the part upstream of Rapperswil may be called the Obersee or Upper Lake. The Seedamm, a partially artificial causeway and bridge, crosses a narrow point of the lake carrying a railway line and road from Pfäffikon to Rapperswil with his castle dating back to the early 13th century. The photo was taken from a hill called Etzel, 1112m (3649ft) in January 2010, important as there is a lot of construction activity in this region, just a decade and the photo is historic! 47°10'39.739\$

Photo taken towards the east when I arrived at Plan de Parouart. In the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence near the hamlets of Maljasset and Combe Brémond in Haute Ubaye the Plan de Parouart 2050m where there was more than 100 years ago an old lake today filled. This flat place is crossed by a very calm Ubaye which is divided into several arms.
