Villa de Leyva, Colombia - September 13, 2014: Founded in 1572 and located at just over 7000 feet above mean sea level on the Andes Mountains, Villa de Leyva was declared a National Monument in 1954 to protect its colonial architecture and heritage. It is located in the Department of Boyaca, in the South American country of Colombia. Photo shows the church on the main plaza or square. It is the largest town square in Colombia. People visiting the town and local residents are seen on the square just sitting and relaxing, chatting with friends or going about their routine chores. In the background are the Andes Mountains, the Cordillera Oriental. The Town was one of the locations for the movie Cobra Verde by Werner Herzog and the Spanish language Soap Opera Zorro. Rome, Italy, October 22 -- A catholic priest inside the church of St. Louis of the French, near Piazza Navona. Built between 1518 and 1589 on plans by the architect Giacomo Della Porta, the church was consecrated on 8 October 1589. St. Louis of the French is considered the church of the French in Rome, particularly dedicated to the figure of King St. Louis IX. The church is also very famous and visited for the presence of some paintings on the life of St. Matthew by Caravaggio. Image in High Definition format.

Christian frescoes on a walls in the Church of St Nicholas in Demre (ancient town Myra in Lycia) which were restored in the process of restoration temple. The Christian church of St. Nicholas was built in the 4th century AD in Demre. The Nicholas of Patara, known as Nicholas the Wonderworker was the bishop of Myra from 300 to 343 and led Christian worship in this church. The 11th century the relics of St. Nicholas were taken to the Italian city of Bari. This church was found during excavations in the middle of the 19th century. The excavations of the temple and the restoration of the church continue to now.

San Miguel De Allende, Mexico - February 08, 2021:La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, the current parish church of San Miguel, is unique in Mexico and the emblem of the town. It is one of the most photographed churches in Mexico and the two tall towers of its neo-Gothic façade can be seen from most parts of town. The church was built in the 17th century with a traditional Mexican façade. The current Gothic façade was constructed in 1880 by Zeferino Gutierrez.
