Wittenberg, officially Lutherstadt Wittenberg, is a city in Germany in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt on the river Elbe. It has a population of about 50,000. The town hall was founded in 1523 and is mainly built in the Renaissance style of the time. In front of the building one can see a statue of the reformer Martin Luther.

Views of historic Dresden, Germany.Dresden is the capital city of the German state of Saxony.  Dresden is the 12th most populous city of Germany and the fourth largest by area.  Dresden is the second largest city on the River Elbe just after Hamburg.Dresden has a history as the capital and royal residence for the Kings of Saxony.  The city was known as the Jewel Box due to its' Baroque and Rococo city centre.  During WWII the British and Americans bombed the city killing approximately 25,000 people and destroying the city.  The ruins of the city remained for 50 years until being rebuilt between 1994 and 2005.  Dresen is one of the most popular cities visited in Germany.

Since the 1700s, this baroque palace in Pilsrundale, Latvia has been subject to repeated attacks and repurposing.  This palace has been a royal home, a hospital, and a school.  But now as it stands as a museum, it is a must-see from both the inside and outside.  Visiting this huge exhibit in Latvia will give tourists a better understanding of Baltic history and how it contextualizes tensions today.  Additionally, the palace and surrounding garden is an absolutely stunning sight to see, whether you are taking a walk or a helicopter ride.
