The institute was founded in 1887. For over a century, the Institut Pasteur has been at the forefront of the battle against infectious disease. Since it opened in 1997, a guard dog known as Puppy has guarded the doors of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao with a changing mantle of tens of thousands of flowers. Always on guard, this West Highland white terrier, a “small” 12.4-meter-tall Scottish white furred dog about 16 tonnes in weight.

Boston, Massachusetts, USA - January 22, 2024: Rear view of the equestrian statue of George Washington in the Boston Public Garden. The sculpture by Thomas Ball was commissioned in 1859, modeled in 1864, and cast and dedicated in 1869. The bronze statue measures approximately 22 x 6 x 15 ft, and rests on a granite base. The monument was conceived in an effort to present Massachusetts as an artistic center. Back Bay neightborhood buildings in the background.

The Jubilee Column is a 30 meter high column, commemorating the 25th anniversary (1841) and the 60th birthday of king Wilhelm I. von Württemberg in 1846. Building started in 1842 after design by architect was Johann Michael von Knapp and in 1846 it was finished. The statues and reliefs were made by the sculptor Theodor Wagner. The statues represent the four estates; three of the four reliefs represent the king's military successes against Napoleon Bonaparte, only one is devoted to a political event. In 1863 a 5 m high statue of Concordia by Ludwig von Hofer was placed on the top.  The Dominant Building is Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism Baden-Württemberg as part of the New Palace In Stuttgart.
