The Arizona Wild Rose or Wood’s Rose (Rosa woodsii) is a shrub that is native to various regions across North America, including parts of Arizona. This plant typically grows in open areas, meadows and along streams or canyons. It has pink to light rose-colored flowers with five petals and a pleasant fragrance. The leaves have serrated edges and the stems are covered in thorns. This species of rose has adapted to survive in arid and mountainous environments, making it suitable for the diverse landscapes of Arizona. It provides habitat and food for wildlife, as well as contributing to the natural beauty of the region. This wild rose was photographed in the Fort Valley area of the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
The rose hip or sometimes also called tapaculo in Spain or gabardera in Aragon, is the pomaceous fruit of the shrubs of the Rosa genus, such as the rosehip (Rosa eglanteria) and the wild rose (Rosa canina)

The rosehip, scientifically known as Rosa eglanteria, is a wild shrub of the Rosaceae family. Originally from Europe and spread throughout the southern region of the Andes Mountains, this plant is appreciated for its oil, extracted from the seeds, which has moisturizing, regenerating and healing properties. Widely used in natural cosmetics, rosehip oil is valued for its ability to nourish the skin, aid in healing and combat signs of aging such as wrinkles and expression lines.
