Outlying villages from Shanghai, such as Wuzhen which is an historic scenic water town, part of Tongxiang, located in the north of Zhejiang Province similarly reflects a civilization dating back over 7000yrs. Located on the southern estuary of the Yangtze River, with the Huangpu River flowing through it, Shanghai is the most populous city in the world. Whilst Shanghai is a global center for finance, business and economics, research, education, science and technology, manufacturing, tourism, culture and transportation, and the Port of Shanghai is the world's busiest container port, signs of its heritage remain with the original Old City, or Chinese City which dates from the 11th century.
