A suggestive sunset view of the Trajan's Column, in the Trajan's Forum, and the National Monument of the Altare della Patria, in the historic heart of Rome. The area of the Roman Imperial Forums is one of the most iconic in Rome, visited by thousands of tourists every year, with the largest area of archaeological excavations in the world. In particular, the Trajan's column was built in 113 AD to celebrate and glorify the victory of the Emperor Trajan over the Dacian people and the conquest of Dacia, today's Romania. The national monument of the Altare della Patria, or Vittoriano, was built in 1885 in neoclassical style in honor of the first King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II, between the north side of the Capitoline Hill and the central Piazza Venezia. Inside is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a War Memorial dedicated to all the Italian soldiers who died in the war. The Altare della Patria is the scene of all the official Italian civic celebrations, in particular the Republic Day on June 2 and the Liberation Day on April 25. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Image in high definition format.

A few rays of sunlight cut an intense blue sky above the statue of an Angel along the Ponte Sant'Angelo (Saint Angel bridge), in the historic and baroque heart of Rome. This bridge was built under the emperor Hadrian in 134 AD. to connect the heart of Rome with his mausoleum, currently Castel Sant'Angelo. A few centuries later, under the pontificate of Pope Clement IX, the architect and sculptor Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini was commissioned to create the current balustrade decorated with ten statues of the Angels of the Passion of Christ. According to tradition, it was Bernini's pupils who sculpted the statues of the Angels in 1669. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The couple is specular but not identical, a symbol of being friends even when different. The star of immortality only shines on Pollux’s head. It was patrons of the cavalry of the House of Savoy.
