Coalhouse Fort is on a bend of the River Thames, to give a good view both up and down the river. Its history dates back to 1402 for defence against French pirates. Used up till WW2. shot 20/7/2022

A turf-topped bunker made of thick concrete was used to store weapons and missiles during World War II.  Hundreds of these bunkers can be seen on the prairie landscape  around Clay Center, Nebraska. One acre will hold three bunkers.
