The Flag-Tail Shrimp-Goby (Amblyeleotris yanoi) is not just a small and colorful fish found in coral reefs, but it's also an example of the complex relationships that can exist in high biodiversity ecosystems. This fish forms a special partnership with a pistol shrimp, with both species benefiting from their cooperation. The shrimp digs a burrow in the sand and allows the shrimp-goby to share it. In return, the shrimp-goby will keep a lookout for predators and warn the shrimp by touching it with its tail. This is just one of the many examples of how biodiversity creates intricate and fascinating relationships between species in our oceans.
