An old wilderness cabin accessible only by floatplane. A seaplane docked outside on a peaceful summer's evening. Summer-run wild steelhead swim up the Toquaht River which makes for great fishing. Toquaht Lake is 13.9 miles from Ucluelet in Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District. The rustic cedar cabin was built on Crown land and is no longer standing since logging operations in the 1980's. The Toquaht are the people of Toquaht Bay, Mayne Bay and western Barkley Sound, and are one of the Nuu-chah-nulth Nations who have lived along Vancouver Island’s west coast for over 10,000 years. \
