The One thousand year old Taos Pueblo is the oldest continuously occupied adobe in the United States. The Native Americans that live there have passed these homes down to their families over the centuries, and each family maintains these homes, preserving an ancient way of life.

The restored Inn along route 66 from the heydays of the 1940s and 50s, was improved from the original Stone Tree House Inn by the Civilian Conservation Corp during the depression. Pueblo Revival Style architecture features stucco masonry, thick walls, earth tones, flat roofs, and projecting roof beams called vigas. The structure sits on shifting clay requiring constant maintenance. In a very remote location served as an oasis from the harsh desert for early travelers.
