This playing card illustrates the proverb 'Enought is as good as a feast'. The illustration shows an example where a pie is partly eaten, and the person dining has had enough. Victorian children were encouraged to learn the English proverbs, of which this is a well-known example. This game is attributed to games manufacturer Multum In Parvo ('much in a small space'). The company formed in the 1890s at 144 Falkland Road, Hornsey, London, N8. In 1931 the company was liquidated following almost continuous financial difficulties throughout the 1920s. The dated style of the illustrations suggests that they were drawn in the mid-19th century.
