Nelson Tower, located on Cluny Hill in Forres, is a memorial to Admiral Lord Nelson. This 21meter high octagonal structure was built by the Forres Trafalgar Club to commemorate Nelsons victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. The foundation stone was laid on August 26, 1806, and the tower was opened to the public on Trafalgar Day, October 21, 1812

The monument is the former Flamborough Head lighthouse and includes an octagonal tower constructed of coursed chalk rubble with stone dressings. It was built in 1674 as a business venture by Sir John Clayton, but never used. The lighthouse comprises an octagonal tower of four stages and a brick parapet, all marked by moulded string-courses.
