Here on June 25 and 26 of 1876, 263 soldiers, including Lt. Col. George A. Custer and attached personnel of the US Army, died fighting several thousand Lakota and Cheyenne warriors.

This image shows a small group of US infantrymen occupying a dugout overlooking a battlefield. At this event there was a large network of trenches and dugouts to show guests and visitors just what life was like for the soldier of the second world war. They ate, drank, shaved, wrote letters, smoked and slept in small dugouts exactly like these.\n\nThis image was taken at an outdoor event over the weekend of 11th-13th August 2023, where reenactors, living historians, and members of the public can come to experience what life was like during the second world war, with live demonstrations, battle reenactments, and static displays from all over the world.

Normandy, France, September 02, 2019: Looking at a 150mm canon of the Longues-sur-Mer artillery battery wich was constructed during the World War II by germans army near the french village of Longues-sur-Mer. The battery was sited on a 60 m (200 ft) cliff overlooking the north sea and formed a part of Germany's Atlantic Wall coastal fortifications. But it couldnĀ“t prevent the Allied landing beaches of Gold and Omaha and shelled both beaches on D-Day (6 June 1944).
