Cold Equatorial sea surface temperatures across the Pacific indicate La Nina weather pattern, typical of less stormy and warm conditions in the far southeast US. The division between this warmer air and colder air to the west may result in a stormy pattern for the mid west. Image data courtesy of NOAA.
