The Abyssinian ground hornbill  (Bucorvus abyssinicus) is an African bird, found north of the equator, and is one of two species of ground hornbill. Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill on a tree in Sinharaja rain forest, Sri Lanka.\n\n The Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill ( Ocyceros gingalensis ) is a bird in the hornbill family and a widespread  common endemic resident breeder in Sri Lanka. It has grey wings with black primary flight feathers, a grey back, and a brown crown. These birds usually live in pairs or small flocks consisting up to five birds.\nThe female lays up to four white eggs in a tree hole blocked off during incubation with a cement made of mud, droppings and fruit pulp. There is only one narrow aperture, barely wide enough for the male to transfer food to the mother and chicks.
Wildlife shot of an extremely rare Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex) at the shores of Lake Victoria, Uganda. This stork-like waterbird is getting up to a height of 120 cm, outstanding is the unique bill. While the shoebill is called a stork, genetically speaking it is more closely related to the pelican or heron families.
