The mosque, based on a circular plan, is surrounded by a peristyle, several horseshoe arch gate  placed at regular intervals, a monumental triumphal arch portal, flanked by two towers, provides access to the sanctuary. Mixing Ottoman, Persian, Hispano-Moorish and neoclassical influences, this monumental building was designed at the request of President Saparmurat Niyazov.
