Paris, France: A plaque on a school on Rue Milton in the 9th arrondissement commemorating the deaths of school children deported and killed by the Nazis and the Vichy Government in WWII.
Jesus, the Son of God, was born to a virgin named Mary. Mary and Joseph raised the Son of God who came to this earth to provide a way for mankind to have a relationship with God. By dying on the cross, Jesus paid the price for our sins and provided a way for us to spend eternity in heaven with Him. At the age of 33, Jesus began His earthly ministry. His coming was announced by John the Baptist. Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness being tempted by Satan, He was victorious over Satan. He chose twelve disciples who helped Him as He went about the countryside. He was a teacher, telling parables that illustrated a point about how we are to live our lives. He taught about God, Himself, and told about the coming of the Holy Spirit. He performed miracles. He was eventually betrayed by Judas, arrested, crucified, buried, rose from the grave on the third day and then ascended to heaven. One day He will return to earth to establish His kingdom forever.

War monument to the Battle of Marciano of the Italian War (of 1551-59) in the Piazza San Felice in the city of Florence. It says: In memory of the triumphant battle against the Marciano. Also known as the Habsburg–Valois War and the Last Italian War, it was triggered when Henry II of France declared war on Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. He wanted to recapture parts of Italy with the intent of recapturing parts of Italy to ensure the French rather than the Habsburgs ruled Europe. The war was settled by the Treaty of Cateau-Cambrésis.
Solomon was the son of David and Bathsheba. He became king when David was too old and sick to continue. He was considered a “wise” king. For example, one day two women came to him with a dispute. The women lived in the same house and both had baby boys. One on the boys had died accidentally when the mother rolled over on him in the night. The two women argued over who the remaining baby belonged to. Solomon thought about it and ordered the remaining child be cut in half, one half for each mother. The real mother of the child said “No don’t kill him, give him to her.” Solomon immediately gave the woman the baby because she had proved herself his mother. Solomon built a temple to the Lord. Unfortunately, he did not end his reign as well as he started out. He ended up being disobedient to God. He had multiple wives and concubines, he worshiped idols, and attempted to kill a man named Jeroboam. After Solomon died, his son Solomon became king.
