Pilgrimage of devotees to the Batu Caves during the celebration of Thaipusam in Malaysia. This children carry Cavadis as an offering to the God Murugan. Every year this Hindu festival celebrates that goddess Parvati gave Murugan, the god of War, a spear to defeat demon Soorapadman. During the festival crowds of devotees visit the Batu caves to pray and perform various acts of devotion, from carrying a pot of milk as an offering to the god to piercing their skin and flesh with hooks and small or large spears and also carrying a Cavadi, a decorated structure that has to be carried till the top of the caves in honor to God Murugan.. Around one million people visit the caves during the festival

Chilam Joshi is also known as Kalash spring festival. Chilam Joshi festival is held in three Kalash valleys, Bumburet, Birir, and Rumbur.The four-day festival is held in the middle of May. During the festival, men and women meet with the aim of finding a spouse. This festival gives an excellent opportunity to celebrate the beginning of summer and to give a message of peace to the world. During this festival, the people of Kalash pray for the safety of their fields and animals. The people of Kalash adore the music and dance to the beat of drums. Both men and woman share these moments of dancing together during the festivities. The Kalash are for their music and dance festivals.[2] The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Government of Pakistan has been mandated to celebrate important religious festivals of Minority Communities in Pakistan in a year. The said function Chilam Jusht has been celebrated since 2017 at village Bamburate, Chitral at official level. This Year 2020, is also arranging to celebrate Chilam Jusht during May 2020.

The 1905 statue was designed by sculptor Charles Henry Niehaus. In September 2017, the Memphis City Council voted to remove Confederate statues from city parks.
