Here is a view of the “Alma Mater” statue at Columbia University, seen from the back. The statue looks south across the quadrangle to the Butler Library. \n\nThe statue’s sculptor was Daniel Chester French (1850-1931,) who, among other famous works, designed the Lincoln statue at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. \n\nAlma Mater, a representation of the University, wears a crown of laurel leaves and an academic gown. She holds a scepter in her right hand.
The Gordie Howe International Bridge, is expected to be fully constructed and open for business by 2024/2025.   The bridge will link Detroit, Michigan with Windsor, Ontario.
The Hotel Cecil a grand hotel built 1890–96 between the Thames Embankment and the Strand in London. The hotel was demolished in 1930. Shell Mex House now stands here
