Lilac-breasted rollers (Coracias caudatus) are found only where there are trees, though telegraph poles and telephone wires make a suitable substitute. Their tree-top perches are chosen as places from where insects, small lizards and other potential food can be easily spotted. Also known as the fork-tailed roller.
