On December 6th 1989, a man armed with a rifle and a hunting knife, shot 28 people, killing 14 women, before committing suicide. The killer targeted female students. The mass murder led to more stringent gun control laws in Canada.

London, England, United Kingdom - July 18, 2022. In 2004 Queen Elizabeth II dedicated the RAF Coastal Command Memorial, located in the south cloister of Westminster Abbey. The RAF Coastal Command Memorial is a relief carving in light grey Carrara marble depicting the sky and sea, with the sky overlaying an outline of the world set above a breaking sea and separated by a horizon line, with an eagle at top left symbolizing mastery of the skies. Westminster Abbey is a historic Anglican church and is a national landmark in England as well as a popular tourist attraction. Visitors enjoy the Abbey cloisters, the High Altar where coronations take place and the Henry VII Lady Chapel with its royal tombs and its flag lined room with the fan vaulted ceiling.

07-14-2023, Drenthe, Netherlands.\n\nNational Monument Westerbork in the Dutch province of Drenthe. The National Monument Westerbork is a war memorial at the place where the railway connection from Hooghalen ended in Camp Westerbork and from where the trains left for the extermination camps in eastern Europe during the Second World War.\n\nA monument was erected in 1992 at the roll call site of the former transit camp to pay tribute to the 102,000 people from the Netherlands who were murdered by the Nazi regime. The monument consists of stones and each stone represents a victim.
