The beauty and importance of the architecture of El Salvador were marked by the world organization UNESCO, which has included it in its list of world heritage sites. In the historic centre is full of colonial buildings.

Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil: the Customs Palace, former Convent of the Oratorian Fathers of Saint Philip Neri (1732) and former Customs House of Pernambuco (1826). Once the largest customs post in Imperial Brazil, the building was adapted after the demolition, in the early 19th century, of the cloister that connected it to the Madre de Deus Church. In 1932, the property belonged to the Santa Casa de Misericórdia, and was rented to the Cooperativa dos Usineiros, which transformed it into a sugar warehouse. It underwent several other uses, including becoming a vehicle parking lot. After a long period of degradation, in 2002 the building was turned into a shopping center.

On back, the mountainous Rio de Janeiro horizon, in the background Corcovado mountain with statue of Christ the Redeemer, urban areas of Botafogo, Flamengo and Centro, Sugarloaf mountain. \n\nThe Niterói Contemporary Art Museum (Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói — MAC) is situated in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is one of the city’s main landmarks. It was completed in 1996.\n\nDesigned by Oscar Niemeyer with the assistance of structural engineer Bruno Contarini, who had worked with Niemeyer on earlier projects, the MAC-Niterói is 16 meters high; its cupola has a diameter of 50 meters with three floors. The museum has a collection of 1,217 works from the art collector João Sattamini. A collection assembled since the 1950s by that collector, constituted by the second largest collection of contemporary art in Brazil, the history of the iconic building is clouded by a political corruption scandal.\n\nThe museum projects itself over Boa Viagem (“Bon Voyage,” “Good Journey”) beach and also a neighborhood, the 817 square metres (8,790 sq ft) reflecting pool that surrounds the cylindrical base “like a flower,” in the words of Niemeyer.$

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói (MAC) was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, a very important Brazilian architect. In 2020, the Museum of Contemporary Art was elected, by the Project Management Institute (PMI), as one of the 10 most influential works of architecture in the last 50 years.
