The unfinished structure of the new cathedral on the right side of the Duomo in the medieval heart of Siena, in Tuscany. The construction of the Metropolitan Cathedral or Duomo dedicated to the Assumption of Mary was completed between 1215 and 1348, becoming one of the religious architectural masterpieces of the Romanesque and Italian Gothic style. But in 1339 it was decided to expand the Cathedral, leaving the existing structure as a transept of the new construction. Unfortunately the new and larger cathedral was not completed and the structure of the unfinished main nave (in the photo) is today called the Duomo Nuovo. Siena is one of the most beautiful Italian cities of art, in the heart of the Tuscan hills, famous for its immense artistic and historical heritage and for the Palio, where the seventeen historical districts of the city compete every year in Piazza del Campo in one of the oldest horse racing in the world. Since 1995 the historic center of Siena has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Wide angle mage in high definition quality.

$Chiusdino, Italy - February 8, 2020: The Abbey of Saint Galgano was a Cistercian Monastery found in the valley of the river Merse between the towns of Chiusdino and Monticiano, in the province of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. Presently, the roofless walls of the Gothic style 13th-century Abbey church still stand. Nearby are the chapel or Eremo or Rotonda di Montesiepi (1185), the tomb of Saint Galgano and the purported site of his death in 1181, the sword said to have been planted in the ground by Galgano and a chapel with frescoes by Ambrogio Lorenzetti. \nIn this photo you can see the interior of San Galgano abbey on winter day of february.$
