This is a traditional Northern Thai ceremony, where the participants are clothed in brightly coloured costumes and walk in a parade to a local Thai Buddhist temple. Once they arrive at the temple they change into white robes and attend talks by the Temple Abbot. Later in the day they participate in the actual Buddhist monk ordination ceremony where they are presented with saffron robes and from then on become Thai Buddhist monks.
