The Europa XS has a single retractable wheel in the center of the fuselage, and a non-retractable tail wheel and retractable outriggers on each wing. The experimental Europa's mono-wheel main landing gear collapsed on contact with the runway. The composite propeller was destroyed however. When the Monowheel collapsed into the fuselage it locked up causing the aircraft to fishtail. Expert handling by the pilot was instrumental in minimal damage to the aircraft and no injuries. Front view showing damaged composite propeller.
