The species lives solitary or in groups, looking for benthic mollusks and crustaceans and some little fish mainly during night, whilst at day it rests among the rocks and corals. \nThere is a Ribboned Sweetlips Plectorhinchus polytaenia in the background.\nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia, \n3°55'1.098 S 134°6'4.638 E at 16m depth$

Heteractis magnifica is the 2nd largest of all sea anemones. The oral disc reaches 100cm, but typical is 30-50cm. In captivity, the longest lifespan is 80 years, in the wild it is unknown, but its estimated that some individuals are hundreds of years old!
