Salt is a mineral they need to survive. A large commercial truck is moving fast toward the sheep. There are signs warning drivers to be cautious of the sheep, but with many concrete quarries in the area the sheep face death and injury from large fast moving vehicles on the road to ensure the business production keeps moving. In an unusual occurrence, A group of dall sheep leave the cliffs to venture down the mountain to eat the last of the seed pods in fall. The sheep are foraging and gorging on the seeds. Many seeds end up sticking to their coats. After getting spooked these ewes make their way across the road.
