The dwarf hawkfish is a popular aquarium fish, and is known for its attractive coloration and interesting behavior.\n\nThe dwarf hawkfish is a small fish, reaching a maximum length of about 3 inches. It is pinkish-red and white in color, with vertical banding or mottling. The dorsal fin has ten spines with numerous tassels on the tips of the spines. The anal fin has three spines and six soft rays. The pectoral fins are thick and elongated and spread out when the fish is resting on the substrate.\n\nThe dwarf hawkfish is a territorial fish, and will defend its territory from other fish. It is also a predatory fish, and feeds on small crustaceans and fish.
