Stelvio Pass is an Alpine pass (2,756 m) at the northwest base of the Ortles mountain range in northern Italy alps near the Swiss border. One of the highest road passes in Europe, it connects the Venosta valley of the upper Adige River to the northeast with the Tellina valley of the upper Adda River to the southwest. The winding road affords scenic views of nearby glaciers.

A stunning sunset light envelops the silhouette of the statue of the emperor Trajan along the Fori Imperiali boulevard, in the ancient heart of Rome. This bronze statue, placed in front of the Trajan's Forum, is a copy of the original marble preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, made in the first century AD. and found in the city of Minturno during some archaeological excavations. The Altare della Patria is the scene of all the official Italian civic celebrations, in particular the Republic Day on June 2 and the Liberation Day on April 25.
